Football season is one of my favorite times of year because that means it’s time to tailgate! Wouldn’t every sport be more fun if you could tailgate before the game?! I’m excited to share this Tailgating Football Party with you, along with our new Football Party Collection! It’s the perfect Collection not only for a tailgating party, but would also be great for a birthday party!
For our tailgating party, I was in charge of the Football Dessert Table. We served lots of desserts that would be appealing to both adults and kids. One of my favorite items was the Blue Velvet Cupcakes topped with our party circles.
I love making Blue Velvet Cupcakes for all of our Kentucky themed parties because they are such a fun color! Topping them with our football cupcake toppers makes them even more festive.
Of course, I think the kids loved the two types of cookies we served at the party. The dessert that always goes the quickest are the most delicious sugar cookies from Patty Cakes. If you are in the Lexington area and need a cake or cookies, Patty Cakes is my absolute favorite! She always does an amazing job!
We also turned regular chocolate chip cookies into Kentucky themed cookies by adding a blue chocolate heart to the top of them right after they came out of the oven. Since our party was mostly for Kentucky football coaches’ wives, I chose the heart to represent all the love that these women put into the season!
The kids were also crazy about the S’mores Pops that we made. They are simply marshmallows covered in melted chocolate and graham cracker crumbs!
Mini blueberry pies in mini mason jars were another fun dessert! The heart was again incorporated into another dessert for the ladies. Another way to add your team colors to a dessert is by tying some baker’s twine around dessert jars in your team colors!
The last dessert that was served was no bake Key Lime Cheesecakes. These are a great make ahead dessert for a party because they can be made the night before and kept in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
