If you’ve been following along with me over on Instagram, you know I’ve been learning hand lettering. It was something I got interested in over the last year, especially after expanding my Art Prints Collection. I’ve slowly been adding hand lettered items to my Esty Shop, like our Kentucky Girl Mug.
Whether I am designing invitations or art prints, fonts have always been important to the design process. Being able to hand letter words to include on these and other items gives the items a uniqueness that can’t be achieved with regular fonts.
If you’ve tried lettering, you know how important regular practice can be. Practicing on a daily basis can help improve your skill and help you to find your own, unique lettering style. Of course, it can be a struggle to know what to letter each day. That’s why I love lettering challenges so much!
I’m thrilled to share our September Lettering Challenge. Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been lettering a passage from Psalms, each day. For me, it’s a way to stay accountable to my goal to improve my lettering and my goal to read more of the bible each day. And, since Psalms has 150 chapters, that’s over 4 months of lettering prompts!
So, join in with our Lettering Psalms Challenge by lettering any passage of that designated psalms for the day. Just pick whatever words from that psalm that speaks to you the most! I can’t wait to see what you all create!! Don’t forget to share your creations with the #letteringpsalms tag!
