I first tried this Peppermint Bark recipe a couple of years ago after finding it in Southern Living. The combination of the peppermint, chocolate, and salt (from pretzels pieces) is just so yummy! You can also whip up a pretty large amount of the Peppermint Bark in just a few minutes, without turning on your stove. It’s become one of my go-to Christmas candies!
Chocolate Peppermint Bark
Ingredients
1 teaspoon butter
3 (11.5 oz.) packages milk chocolate chips
12 oreo or other chocolate sandwich cookies, cut into small pieces
1 cup small pretzel sticks
1 1/4 cups soft peppermint sticks or candies, broken into small pieces
Line a large, rimmed baking sheet (15×10) with parchment paper. Grease the paper with the butter. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl, on medium-high, in one minute increments. Stir after each one minute increment. Chop oreos, pretzels, and peppermints into bite size pieces. Stir 3/4 cup of peppermints, oreos, and pretzel sticks into chocolate. Pour into greased baking sheet. Top with remaining 1/2 cup peppermints. Let cool for approximately 4 hours or until hard. Enjoy!
