I’ve missed y’all! Although there were several Christmas posts planned for last week, it’s been pretty quiet around here. Between Christmas card orders and an accident by my little guy, last week’s plans were shifted around! He fell going up our hardwood stairs and bit through his little bottom lip. After a few stitches and many milkshakes, he’s on the mend now. And, I’m hoping to get you those Christmas posts that were planned!
First, on my list is Gift Wrapping Ideas for your holidays. I recently wrote a holiday article for TOPS Magazine’s December edition. The article included some tips on hosting a gift wrapping get together.
You can read the article HERE. The article included four different wrapped packages. The following are the instructions for recreating these looks.
For this package, I simply tied a thick grosgrain ribbon around a package wrapped with kraft paper. It was topped with a custom holiday tag. You can get these free printable tags, here.
The next package also wrapped in kraft paper. Over top of the kraft paper, I placed a strip of graphic wrapping paper and a few strips of gold ribbon. Instead of a bow, the gift was topped with tissue pom pom. For instructions on making these pom poms, please visit here. To modify the poms poms for the gifts, simply make them half the size of the hanging poufs. I used paper poms on a lot of my gifts this year because they make a large impact for a small price!
Bells are a great item to add to the top of Christmas packages. Instead of a bow, simply tie your package with twine and top it with a few gold bells.
Finally, the last gift was also wrapped with kraft paper. I tied a thin gold ribbon around the package to add a little shimmer. Then, I cut out an initial from carstock for the gift recipient’s first name. To get this look, simply find a type style you like using your word processing program. Enlarge the letter to the desired size, then print it out. Cut out the letter, then trace it onto cardstock. Cut out letter, then punch a hole in the top.
Love the “T”. I just purchased the largest wooden letters for each of my family member’s name. This is for my white Christmas theme. Then I love the idea of doing them on packages to decorate under the tree. Thanks for sharing.
That’s a great idea, Di!!!
