My little guy’s eyes have a permanent twinkle to them during the holidays. He is already so excited about Christmas and was thrilled when I started getting out the Christmas decorations. This year, he asked if he could have a full sized tree in his room. At first, I told him that we would just put up the mini tree that always went up in his room. We moved to our new house in June, so all of our Christmas tree decorations got shifted around. We really don’t have much red in this house, like we did in the old house. All of the red ornaments we had weren’t going to be used on any tree this year. Since we had so many unused red ornaments and the color palette in his room is red and navy, I decided to let him go for it!
Once we decided to put up a tree in his room, I started looking around and thinking about Boys Bedroom Christmas Ideas. We first found a pre-lit tree at Lowes for under $50, which is perfect for his room. Although we had plenty of red ornaments, I wanted to get a few items to make the tree a little more boyish and personalized for him.
One way to decorate a boy’s bedroom for Christmas is to look for items that interest the child. My little guy loves baseball. Michaels had the above mini baseball ornaments in their $1 bins. They also carried footballs and soccer balls. They were a very inexpensive, but still a cute way to add a little sportiness to his tree. The navy balls were previously a chocolate brown. But, with a little spray paint, we had the perfect color to match his room.
My favorite addition to his tree were the baseball and football pennants. Luckily, there are a lot of red and blue teams that coordinate perfectly with his tree. He loved putting these in his tree!!
On his desk wall, a couple of Santas and a Santa hat chair cover add some holiday cheer to his space. Another Boys Bedroom Christmas Idea is to add a few Santas the room. Little guys especially love having reminders of the Big Guy!
This little Santa is right at home on the shelf next to the Mike Trout ball. Just a few small Christmas touches fit right in with his regular décor.
Finally, another boys bedroom Christmas idea is to start a small collection. I have bought my guy a Nutcracker at Christmas over the last couple of years. He loves putting them out in his room each year and remembering each one he received.
Do you decorate your kids’ rooms for Christmas? What ideas have worked for you?
