Probably the most amazing thing my husband does for me every day is make the coffee the night before. There’s nothing more romantic than waking up to the perfect cup of coffee already brewed 🙂 Considering how much I love coffee, there really isn’t a better gift he could give me.
Do you start your morning with a cup of coffee, too? How about your afternoons? In the winter, I drink coffee all day. But, in the summer, it’s just a little too warm to drink hot coffee all afternoon. So, I tried making some iced coffee, instead. It was the perfect mid-afternoon pick me up! And, with just a little bit of sweetness, it felt like a real afternoon treat.
Adding maple syrup to this coffee, instead of sugar, gives it a rich flavor that is perfectly complimented by the vanilla extract. Of course, I had to add some milk to it, too. Feel free to substitute the milk with cream, or a dairy substitute, like coconut, almond or soy milk.
Maple Vanilla Iced Coffee
4 cups brewed coffee
4 tablespoons 2% milk
4 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Stir together coffee, milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Fill glasses with ice cubes. Pour coffee mixture over ice and ENJOY!
