Hope y’all have had lots of fun celebrating Derby Week with me! If you’re hosting a Kentucky Derby Party or Derby get together, a Mint Julep is imperative. Whether you like the traditional flavors or prefer to add some fun flavors to your Mint Julep, either way, it is a must have! But, don’t forget about those guests who might not be Bourbon drinkers. Non Alcoholic Mint Julep Recipes are great for little Derby Party guests and those guests who just choose not to drink Bourbon.
For this recipe, I wanted to add a little fruit flavor to the drink. I chose strawberries, but any berry would be delicious. The strawberries add a refreshing brightness to the drink. This Mint Julep recipe would also be great with raspberries or blackberries. To make this Mint Julep Recipe non alcoholic, you simply replace Bourbon with Ginger Ale. Of course, if you prefer your Mint Julep with a little Bourbon, feel free use your favorite Bourbon instead of Ginger Ale!! To dress up the drinks, I added a wooden stir stick topped with our FREE printable drink flags. You can download the drink flags and lots of other FREE Derby Party printables, here.
Strawberry Mint Julep Recipe {Non Alchoholic}

*For simple syrup, add 1/2 cup sugar and 1 cup of water to a small saucepan. Cook on high heat until it comes to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool.
Add syrup and strawberries to glass and crush with the back of a spoon (or crush in a blender). Add mint leaves and muddle to smash them slightly. Add 2 ounces of Ginger Ale to glass. Fill with crushed ice (I crushed mine in the blender). Add strawberry half for a garnish.
To make a large batch that serves 8: Puree together 5 tablespoons simple syrup and 24 strawberries in a blender. Add puree to large pitcher with about 24 mint leaves and muddle with a spoon. Add 16 ounces of ginger ale to the pitcher. Fill pitcher with crushed ice.
