This sugar cookie recipe has it all; it’s the workhorse of cookies. Once you try it out, you’ll never need another sugar cookie recipe again. For the All is Calm, All is Bright Christmas Dessert Table, I topped these yummy sugar cookies with fondant toppers. It’s an easy technique for beautiful cookies. You’ll find the directions at the end of the recipe.
Sugar Cookies (recipe from Glorious Treats)
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
After just making 2 different batches of sugar cookies, I have a new appreciation for recipes where the dough doesn’t stick to the parchment paper and/or rolling pin when you roll them out. Did you have any such trouble with this recipe? Love the fondant toppers! Very festive.
Hey Danielle! I did not have any trouble with it sticking. I do rub a very small amount of flour on surface and on dough while rolling it out. Merry Christmas to you & yours!!!
No fail…even for a non-baker like me? I’ll take your word for it and give it a try (love Glorious Treats blog, too!).
