The perfect post-slumber party breakfast is a preppy party brunch! For my daughter’s 12th birthday, she wanted a preppy themed sleepover breakfast. Last year, she had a Lilly Pulitzer Themed Party, but this year she chose to have a Kate Spade Party inspired by her favorite handbag designer, Kate Spade. She chose the black, white, and bright pink color palette and we paired it with a sweet bow and striped theme, inspired by Kate Spade’s iconic look.
Post sleepover brunches are truly simple parties to plan. For Mira’s party, she chose to have a make your own Cereal Bar. Once the girls woke up, they were treated to a yummy breakfast with lots of cereal choices.
We served five different cereals for the girls to choose from. They were each placed in an apothecary jar and a 3″ circle label from our Preppy Kate Spade Inspired Collection was placed on each jar with a white ribbon. We also served three types of milk for the girls to pour over their cereal.
No cereal bar would be complete without a few berries or other fruits to top off the cereal. Mira really likes raspberries and blackberries, so those fruits were available on the Cereal Bar.
Mira also likes muffins, so I made a few of those for the girls, too. They were topped with personalized party circles and flags on wooden sticks. I painted the balls gold before attaching them to the wooden sticks. The muffins were the only treats that I actually made for their breakfast, so it was super simple to prepare. But, the girls all absolutely loved the set up and getting to make their own mix of cereal. I love that cute, special meals don’t always have to take a lot of work and preparation!
The Cereal Bar was set up in our Dining Room by the dining table, where the girls ate breakfast. For the table set up, each place setting was set with a white plate, black dessert plate, and then topped with a hand painted oversized mug.
Each girl’s mug included a name tag with their names. I also found the striped black & white fabric with gold polka dots that I used for a table runner at Hobby Lobby.
Each place setting also included a milk bottles wrapped with black ribbon and pink and white baker’s twine. These black & white striped & polka dot Kate Spade acrylic straws are my new favorite thing. I just love using them for smoothies!
We also had straws topped with mini bows. They were easy to make and were adorable on top of the black & white straws. The patterns for these mini bow straw toppers are available in our Preppy Kate Spade Inspired Printable Party Collection.
For favors, Mira picked out gold polka dot mini Kate Spade notepads for each of the girls.
In addition to brunch, the night of the slumber party, we had a fun scavenger hunt for the girls. Afterwards, we went out for pizza before coming home for the evening. It was a fun-filled night for my sweet girl and her friends. Happy Birthday, my beautiful Mira!!!
