Tomorrow is the last home game for my favorite college football team – the University of Kentucky Wildcats. That also means it’s the last day for a tailgate at home this year. But that doesn’t mean it’s the last chance to throw a fun football party! I recently had the opportunity to help host a tailgate party for an amazing group of ladies and their kids. It was a lovely afternoon, filled with great food, wonderful friends and lots of team spirit!
Dessert!!! The dessert table included gorgeous sugar cookies from the talented Vicki Gaver, chocolate cupcakes, vanilla cupcakes, pumpkin pie truffle pops (recipe here), oreo pops (recipe here), and football chocolate covered oreos. The dessert table was decorated with a “sweets” banner, football themed cupcake toppers, and football place cards. All of the yummy desserts were a big hit with the tailgaters, young & old!
There were three tables set up for the tailgating party – a drink table, a snacks table, and a sweets table. Simple striped banners hung in the front of each of the tables. Rustic elements, such as metal cake stands, jute twine, and wooden boxes paired perfectly with the blue & white color palette. For the signature drink, we served Big Blue Margaritas!
Go Cats!
