Mistyping between a Type 1 and a Type 2 isn’t a particularly common mistype. But when it does happen it’s usually because of a confusion between the primary type and the wing. Both Types 1 and 2 are in the Dependent (or Compliant) Stance. They move towards people and are more community driven that those in other stances.
Because both types are community oriented, they like to serve others and do good in their social life. The main difference though is in the why behind their service. For Type 1s, they strive to do good and live up to their ideals, so they serve others to accomplish this. On the other hand, Type 2s service and community focus derives from their desire to develop strong personal relationships. Type 2s are most motivated by their relationships and strive to create close connections, to the point that they will sometimes even develop interdependence. Type 1s, however, prefer to maintain their autonomy with their relationships.
