Thousands of you have either signed up for the Anyone Can Letter free email hand lettering course or taken one of my in person Hand Lettering Basics classes. The question I’m not starting to get on a regular basis is, “What’s next?” Many of you want to either start learning to hand letter. Or maybe you have been practicing your letters, but you want more.
I’ve created an 7 step process for learning all the things you need to know about lettering. Each step includes a worksheet to help you master that step of lettering.
I’m launching the first step of the 7 step process for you, today! Each month, I’ll be launching a new stop in the process for you to learn. You can focus on that step for the month, before moving on to the next step. So what is Step 1?
Step 1 is mastering the lower case letters. You can get our worksheet for step 1, so you can start to master lower case lettering. It will walk you through each lower case letter in a beautiful, unique script.
You can use this Worksheet on your iPad if you like to letter using the Procreate App. But, you can also print out the workbook and letter with you pens. Print out the workbook as often as you’d like, until you master your lower case letters.
The pens I recommend are all available on Amazon. My favorite choices are the PaperMate Flair Pen, Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen or Pentel Brush Sign Pen. But if you have other small tip brush pens that you like, this worksheet will work perfect. You’ll want to start by drawing the letters with a marker pen, like the PaperMate Flair Pen or a Gel Pen. Once you get a hang of making the letters and filling in the downstrokes, then you an switch to the Brush pens, like the Tombow Fudenosuke or Pentel Brush Sign Pen.
This Lower Case Lettering Workbook is Step 1. At the beginning of each month, for the next 6 months, I’ll be launching a new Workbook. I’m spacing out each concept so that you can take a month to master that concept before moving onto the next. Up next is a workbook for Upper Case Letters. Make sure to start on your lower case letters soon with this workbook so you’ll be ready to tackle the next concept in a month. Be on the lookout at the start of each month to see what lettering concept we’ll tackle that month!
