My seventh grader has grown taller than I am in the last year. I’ve jokingly told her that the taller she gets, the higher the heels on my shoes will be getting! It really stinks to realize that your baby is bigger than you are 🙁 But, no matter how tall she becomes, she will always be my little girl and I’ll always think of her as that curly headed little girl that she once was!
Now that she is almost a teenager, she has more definite ideas about everything – her clothes, her food, her music, and, of course, how she decorates her room. This year she wanted a full sized tree in her bedroom for Christmas, so I needed to come up with some Teen Christmas Décor Ideas that she and I would both love. For her tree, she picked out the sparkly bow topper. Blue, pink and silver ornaments coordinate with her room. We used disco ball ornaments that were leftover from her 9th Disco Themed Birthday Party. Even in a teen’s room, it’s important to use some ornaments or holiday decorations that have some meaning. The disco balls also match the disco ball that hangs above the white vanity table in her room. Additionally, I made her some simple monogrammed ornaments. She simply loves anything with her monogram on it, so it was the perfect DIY ornament for her. I’ll be back later this week to show you how I made them in just a matter of minutes. Finally, a sparkly wreath and glittered white reindeer adorn separate corners of her room. Although she wanted a tree in the room, she didn’t want to go too overboard on her decorations.
Do you have any special tips for decorating your teen’s bedroom for the holidays? Also, if you have little boys living with you, you can check out how I decorated my son’s bedroom for the holidays, last year. Happy Holidays!
