Happy Presidents Day! Sam has been studying the Presidents at school over the last month, so this year we decided to do a few activities for Presidents Day. It worked out great to stay at home during Presidents Day this year because we are having Snowmageddon 2015 here in Kentucky as I type this! These are all easy ideas that you could do without much preparation. If you’re here in Kentucky, it looks like you’ll be having a snow day tomorrow, so you can just make it a Presidents themed week if you are looking for something to do tomorrow!
Sam came up with the idea to have a Teddy Bear Tea Party in honor of Theodore Roosevelt. He gathered all of his Teddy Bears and hosted them for tea and jam! He set up his tea party on a blanket in the living room.
This weekend we picked up a couple of Presidential books. These are great books because they are filled with quick facts rather than long stories about each president.
Sam loves to design logos and sports uniforms, so I printed this Design Your Own Coin worksheet for him.
After lunch, the kids did a little Penny Polishing science experiment to see which liquid would clean Honest Abe the best. Hope you have a Happy Presidents Day and keep warm!
