I have a slight problem this time of year. My family says that I am addicted to pumpkins. They might be right! As soon as September 1st hits, I start getting out all the pumpkins. White pumpkins, orange pumpkins, big ones, little ones – it doesn’t matter. I love them all! I actually like decorating for Fall probably more than I do for Christmas. At least it’s pretty close between the two. So, I’ll be sharing how I decorate for Fall around the house. Today, we’ll start with our Living Room!
Our house doesn’t have a formal living room. On our main floor, we just have one bedroom, kitchen, office, dining room and living room. Our living room actually is living in! It’s our family room, homework room, snack room, tv watching room! You name it, this room is where it happens! Fall decorating in the living room was the first place I started with the pumpkins.
My first step in Fall Decorating in the Living Room is to change out the pillows. I went with a navy and neutral color palette on for the pillows. I purchased all of the pillows at my local TJ Maxx this season.
My favorite of the new pillows is a plaid one with fur trim that sits on the corner of the sectional. Our sectional couch is probably the most important piece of furniture in the room. Although I didn’t love the idea of purchasing a sectional, it really does fit our family’s lifestyle the best.
The sectional is also the perfect spot to have an afternoon cup of tea in our Hello Gorgeous Mug. I kept our fall coffee table with some fresh flowers and small fabric pumpkins on a tray. This time of year, I like to cut hydrangeas from the bush in our side yard. They are starting to turn into a dark pink and green color, which are perfect for Fall.
For the piano that sits behind the couch, I added our “It’s Fall Y’all” Art Print to bring out the fall colors in my Emily Jeffords Art Print. I also added a fur pelt to the bench.
Since the room is mostly blue and neutral colors, I added white pumpkins and DIY Map Pumpkins to the shelves. The woven and neutral details on the shelves also compliment the fall feel.
Another must have for me for Fall decorating is blankets. I typically have at least one blanket thrown on the couch, then I stash a few in an antique wooden crate under one of our side tables. My new favorite throw is our new grey cozy pom pom throw from Pottery Barn. Another fall favorite is this set of buffalo check pillows. They coordinate with our Give Thanks and Gather Together prints.
Hope you enjoyed our Fall living room! I’ll be sharing our dining room, kitchen and back porch on the blog soon!
