Type 5s are the Investigators or the Thinkers. They are curious, rational, independent and observant.
Type 5s’ basic desire is to feel helpful and competent. They seek to be experts in many areas of their lives. Their basic fear is that they are incompetent and have less knowledge than those around them.
Type 5s tend to need a lot of alone time. They seek knowledge and a deep understanding of their world. They want to understand how the world works. They are curious about new environments. But, Type 5s’ desire to pursue knowledge comes for a fear that they don’t do things as well as other people. This can lead to them being detached from others.
