Good morning! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I wanted to share a quick little redo of Mira’s room that I did last week. I had noticed that Mira’s bedding needed to be replaced, so I ordered a new, inexpensive duvet cover for her room. She is heading to college next Fall, so I wanted to get her something nice, but without spending a whole lot of money. Once I ordered the new duvet cover, it led to a few more items and a mini makeover.
There was just something about the way her room was that didn’t work, so a little mini makeover was needed. But, I didn’t tell her I was doing it. Instead, she left for her lifeguarding job at 7am, then I made all the changes before she came home at 2pm. We surprised her with the changes and she was thrilled! Totally worth working like a crazy person to finish it before she got home!
I gave her room a slightly bohemian feel, since that is more her personal style now. Her old bedroom had a very preppy feel and that was no longer really a good fit for her. Her room also need to be warmed up a little bit, so I spray painted all of her silver hardware and knobs on her furniture with a burnished gold. Adding more wood tones, like this mini wood lamp, to the room also warmed up the space. Although her doesn’t get much natural light, I wanted to add some greenery to her room. So, I chose to used fake plants, like a mini cactus and hanging wall planter with a faux succulent.
Here are the links to some of the new items I got for her room:
