Have you ever wondered how to remove the used wax from a candle once you have burned it all the way? It’s so simple that you’ll wonder why you haven’t always done it!
For all of our Wine Glass Candles, we strive to use the most eco-friendly materials we can find. And, this extends to our candle vessels, too! Did you know that our wine glass candles can be used for wine drinking after they are done burning?
How to Remove Wax from Your Candle Glass
With just a few simple steps you can remove the remaining wax from our candles. Our candles will burn for many hours, but at some point, then wick will end and they will no longer burn. At that point, shown in the photo above, you can remove the wax and use your candle vessel as a stemless wine glass.
Step 1: Remove Stickers from Candle Glass
When I designed the packaging for our candles, I looked into many ways to add the branding to our candles. I chose to use stickers on both the front of the candle and the bottom, so that they would be easy for you to remove them. Instead of having the logo and candle scents directly printed on the glass, the stickers were a better choice so you could easily remove them from your glass. Both stickers can easily be removed by just peeling them off.
Step 2: Submerge Candle in Boiling Water
After removing the stickers, fill a pot with 1-2 inches of water. Bring the water to boil on your stovetop. Once the water begins to boil, turn off the burner and remove the pot from the heating element. Immediately submerge the candle in the pot of boiling water. Let candle sit in water for 2-3 minutes. Wax should melt enough that it pulls away from glass and can be poured out of glass in a big hunk.
Step 3: Wash Glass
After removing remaining hunk of wax, you can wipe down the candle to remove remaining wax. At this point, I wash my candle glass by placing it in the dishwasher since our glasses are dishwasher safe. You can also hand wash your glass, if you prefer.
Step 4: Enjoy!
After either hand washing your glass or washing the glass in the dishwasher, you are now ready to enjoy it. I recommend enjoying it with a glass of your favorite wine, of course!
