Hosting a Halloween Girls Night In
Although you may have stopped trick-or-treating years ago, that does not mean you have to stop celebrating Halloween. Gather all your best girlfriends and host a festive and fun Halloween Girls Night In. It is the perfect way to celebrate all those cherished friendships in your life. Instead of decorating with witches, little monsters and ghosts, choose a more sophisticated theme for your gathering.
Party decorations for a Girls Night In Party should be simple and chic. Start with a black and white color palette, then add just a touch of pale pink for a feminine vibe. The addition of spider webbing and mini black plastic spiders will create a Halloween look that is equally beautiful and spooky.
You will also want your Girls Night In Party to have a little glamour, so use your fine china and crystal for the evening. Gather a bouquet of white hydrangeas or white roses, purchased at your local grocery store, and group them in a mint julep cup or small clear vase for an elegant centerpiece.
Finger food and appetizers are the way to go for a Girls Night In. A good rule of thumb to follow when serving appetizers is to plan about 12 pieces per guest, multiplied by the number of guests, divided by the number of different appetizers. Choose about 5-6 of your favorite appetizers to serve. Of course, if you have a regular group of girlfriends that gets together, you could always ask guests to each bring a small appetizer or snack to share.
For drinks, an assortment of delicious wines is always appreciated. Also consider serving a signature drink, like a Black Widow Cocktail. Simply fill martini or champagne glasses with pink cotton candy “spider webs”. Before serving, pour prosecco over the cotton candy.
Repeat the spider theme with Spider Web Vanilla Cupcakes. Purchase store bought cupcakes, then right before the party, cover the frosting with pink cotton candy. Top cupcakes off with a plastic black spider for decoration.
A Girls Night In Party does not necessarily require any activities. Simply gathering friends together for a fun night of company is all that is needed for a great night. But, if you’re looking for an activity, try Bunco or another card game. Another fun party idea would be a wine tasting, with guests trying several types of wine and rating their favorite. Finally, since it is a Halloween party, you could ask guests to dress up in costume. Pick a fun theme, like your favorite television or movie character. Award prizes for the best costumes of the evening.
Before guests leave, send them home with a sweet party favor to remember the night. Two good choices would be a beautiful decorated sugar cookie or your favorite color of nail polish. Just a little something to show guests how much their friendships mean to you!
