What is it about Fall that it is so wonderful? The cooler temperatures, the beginning of the holiday season, pumpkin spice lattes? Once it turns September 1st, I start getting out my box of Fall home décor. I actually might like it a little bit better than Christmas décor because it’s a little less fussy and more cozy. Come on in to our house and check out some of our Fall Décor.
Right in our front door, you find our steps and entry way. Our “Hey Y’all” print by Winnie Jean welcomes guests. Although lots of items on the antique dresser change with the seasons, this print stays here.
Our gold foil “My Old Kentucky Home” print rounds out the entryway. The touches of gold are a perfect metallic accent for Fall. If you take a left you’ll find your way into our Dining Room.
The dining room is one of my favorite rooms to decorate, probably because it already has cream, warm tones. For Fall, the first thing I did was add a fall inspired centerpiece to the dining table. Inside the house, I use almost all faux pumpkins because of a little pumpkin mishap we had a few years ago. In October, we take a week long beach vacation. A few years ago, in our previous house, we had a real pumpkin from a Pumpkin Patch visit inside the house, on the brick fireplace. Unfortunately, when we were gone, that pumpkin started to rot and ooze into the brick hearth. It was pretty disgusting and I’ve been a little trigger shy on buying any real pumpkins for the indoors until we come back from that beach trip. So, for now at least, I am only using faux pumpkins.
We don’t have much orange in our house, but this year, I mixed into some orange pumpkins with the white ones. Much of my house incorporates light blue, so the orange goes well with the blue.
On either side of our large window, I hung two of our bible verse Fall Prints – “O Give Thanks” and “Let us Come Before Him” with a stained wood kit. Our wood kits will be coming to Shop soon and available for any of our 11×14″ prints.
On the buffet, I added a grapevine wreath that I have had for years, with a little sprig of cotton. Both white and orange pumpkins were also placed on the buffet. There’s still plenty of room for dishes and other items to go onto the buffet.
