Simple Definition of intentional
Full Definition of intentional
2a: of or relating to epistemological intention b: having external reference
For 2016, I chose the word “intentional” as my word of the year. It seems like in both my personal life and in this business, I make so many reactionary decisions. Or, in many situations I just kind of wing it! So, this year, I’m going to try to plan or design my life just like the above definition from Merriam Webster states.
2015 held many great changes for Mirabelle Creations. But, when I look back, I can’t say that I had a great plan of where Mirabelle Creations should go in 2015. The changes that happened were from decisions that were made without a greater master plan. For 2016, I want to spend more time considering and planning for the future. One resource I’m planning on using for my business planning is Lara Casey’s Goal Setting Series. I highly recommend Lara’s series and many more of her fabulous sources and books for all small business owners. And, now that the kids are back to school, I actually have the time to sit down and work through some of these exercises!
The principle of living a more Intentional Life is also going to guide me with my personal life and our family. Mira will be entering this Fall and Sam will be in his last year of elementary school. It’s time to sit down as a family and ask where we want to go from here. What are our family goals? What is our family mission statement? Have you gone through some of these exercises in your family? If so, do you have any suggestions on books to read or other resources? I’d love to hear your advice!
