Birthday boxes are a great idea if you’re looking for a quick, inexpensive, but cute little gift for a birthday boy or girl. To assemble this birthday in a box, I went our local dollar store and started looking for fun items. Immediately, my daughter saw some lady bug bubbles, so we decided to look for lady bug or red and black themed items. We quickly found enough cute items to fill our birthday in a box for a soon to be four year old! And, the best part was that each item was just $1!
We chose to go with a lady bug theme for our box. But, there were lots of other possibilities we found at the dollar store. For girls, you could do a butterfly, princess or a teddy bear theme. For boys, some other options could be dinosaurs, bugs, Star Wars, or sports.
Since our birthday in a box was going to a friend in the neighborhood, we delivered the box to the birthday girl. But, I love the idea of shipping these to far away friends or family. The takeout style box I used was from Nashville Wraps. Any size box would work for this fun project, even one of the postal service’s flat rate priority boxes. To assemble the box, simply fill the bottom with paper shred (we purchased it at the dollar store, too) and place the box items on top. We added a little handmade card and some twine to top off our box.
Have fun and get creative making your birthday in a box. And, know that the little birthday girl or boy will love opening this fun birthday in a box!
