This simple DIY Dog Art project is a great way to show your breed loyalty. And, if you have several breeds of dogs that you like, it’s easy enough for you to make artwork for each of those breeds!
For this DIY Dog Art, start by doing an online search for silhouettes for your breed of dog. For instance, my dog is an English Setter. In the Google search bar, I typed in “English Setter silhouettes”. I found several pictures of English Setter silhouettes. I selected the one I wanted to use, then saved the picture to my computer. You don’t need to worry about the quality of the picture; it’s okay if it turns out to be a little grainy. I have Picasa loaded on my computer, so once I opened the picture, I able to print it at the size that I wanted. If you don’t have Picasa or some other picture editing tool, you could simply print the picture on your computer. If you’d like it a little bigger or a little smaller, you can use the copy function on your printer to print it to the proper scale.
Once you have printed out the picture, cut it out and race the silhouette onto a piece of cardstock or scrapbook paper in the color of your choice. Cut out the silhouette. For the background, I used a graphic piece of wrapping paper, taped to the back of the frame. Cardstock or scrapbook paper would also work well for the background. Cut your paper to the size of the back of the fame, then glue the dog silhouette to the middle of the background. That’s it! This DIY Dog Art adds color to any tabletop or wall without a lot of work or money!!
