We’ve had lots of changes around here, lately. We rented an apartment for a few months as a temporary space to decide if we wanted to sell our house and move back to the city where my husband and I both grew up. Although it was just a temporary space for a few months, I wanted to create a cozy spot that my family could call home. It was tricky to spend a lot of time and money on décor knowing that we were only going to be in the space for 6 months. Thankfully, with a few inexpensive decorating ideas and products, we came up with a kitchen, living room, dining space, and bedroom that worked for us for the time.
Earlier this summer, we actually took the plunge and moved into a new house. When I move into house, I make a list of things that I’d like to change or do to the house. Then, I try to categorize those items into DIY projects or projects that need to be contracted out. Items on the list get prioritized by how important they are and cost. Each week since moving in, we have tried to tackle a few things on the list. There have already been a lot of changes, but we still have a lot of work to really make it feel like home. I’m excited to share with you some of the projects and decorating ideas that we tackle on our own over the next few months, like the baseball pennant wall art for my son’s room. Here are a few before pictures of the house:
